Confederate Monument Project! Simulation & Art Project!

An engaging project based learning Confederate Monuments activity.

For this activity, students act as a "Confederate Monument Committee" to develop a solution to the contested issue of Confederate Monuments.

Students analyze a series of documents to understand the issue surrounding Confederate Monuments and have to need to come up with a ‘workable’ solution for the  on what should be done with these monuments. 

The next part of the activity is my favorite! Each group must develop a proposal and design for a new monument that reflects what is most important to remember about the Civil War and its legacy on the nation.
