WHAT STUDENTS LEARN 

The driving question of the video is 'why did the French and Indian War lead to the American Revolutionary War?" The video teaches how George Washington's initial attack against French forces sparked this war. It covers a few major battles- at Fort Duquesne, the Battle of Quebec and Montreal that led to the British victory. It covers the Treaty of Paris and how the French were removed from North America but how Pontiac's Rebellion led to the Proclamation of 1763 and why the colonists were enraged by it. Lastly, it teaches how the huge debt from the war led to taxes that sparked protest and rebellion that would usher in the revolution.

***The lessons cover state-standards while making sure the content is still interesting. 

7 Years War Activity: Map Analysis

After the video, notes, and quiz, students analyze three maps showing territorial claims in North America before and after the war and one on Pontiac's Rebellion and answer questions on them. The activity will help to build geography and mapping skills! Engaging and approachable for diverse learners!
