So, what the heck is a primary source sandwich?

Its a strategy I created to take the stress out DBQs while still building historical thinking and writing skills. They pair primary source texts (which can be challenging for students to read) with cartoons, graphs, maps, photographs, and other images to help them better understand the text and answer an inquiry question using evidence from various sources!

• Scaffolds tasks so students can develop historical thinking skills
• its 'bite-sized' inquiry so students don't get overwhelmed and can build their confidence while building skills

Each activity is about 60 minutes and can lead to great discussions and debates! There are more topics than you'll need so that you can choose which ones you love the most!
