A Fun Team-Building Activity for History Class!

Monument Makers accomplishes 3 major things as a first week activity:
1. Teach important expectations & procedures for group work!
2. Teamwork and Community Building with students!
3. Having fun as a class!

Objective: Students will work together to construct a rough replica of a historic site out of cardboard, write a summary, and list interesting facts about famous historical sites for US and/or World History. This activity promotes teamwork, resource sharing, and historical understanding.

This is a fun 30-minute team building activity for history classes for the first week of school! Students work in groups to create a rough replica of different historical sites like the Pyramids of Giza, the Statue of Liberty, Stonehenge, The Parthenon, the White House, and a dozen other available options with cardboard or any other available paper resources!

Students can also write short summaries of their sites, include interesting or crazy facts, and deliver a one-minute presentation to their peers.
Students vote on their favorite one and that group can earn bonus points or a prize!

Lastly, students reflect on how well they worked a team, followed instructions, and what they learned from or about their classmates!

This a fun first week of school activity for history class your students will love!
